A post-doctoral position is available from April 1, 2015 in the Bioengineering Department at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
The newly established laboratory of Prof. Bojana Gligorijevic is looking for an independent and ambitious postdoctoral candidate for a project entitled “Systems microscopy analysis of tumor cell motility in microenvironment context”.
PROJECT:
Focus of this multidisciplinary study is on the integrative effect of complex microenvironment signals (physical and chemical) on tumor cell phenotypes and on the switching between them.
Project heavily relies on 4D intravital microscopy of tumor and its microenvironment, including multiphoton and confocal microscopy in transgenic and xenograft mouse models. For mechanistic studies, we use classical cell/molecular bio techniques including omics.
REQUIREMENTS:
A PhD in a life science discipline required with preference for a strong background in molecular/cell or tumor biology. Advantage will be given to applicants with systems thinking and quantitative skills (mathematical modeling, programming in Matlab/R, analysis of omics data) and those with experience in microscopy.
Whereas the position is NIH-funded for 3 –years, applicants are expected to apply for fellowships.
