　　Assistant Professor in Aquatic Ecology in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy

　　A tenure-track position is available for an Assistant Professor. Designed to contribute to the new Interdepartmental Initiative in Inland Waters, it is an academic-year (9-mo) tenure-track appointment which includes the expectation that the appointee will conduct research and outreach, including aspects of relevance to environmental or agricultural problems in California. We are especially interested in aquatic ecologists who have, or will establish, a strong and innovative program of research and outreach directed at understanding the linkages between environmental forcing and its consequences for inland aquatic ecosystem processes and natural communities.

　　Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, plankton ecology, aquatic invertebrates, aquatic community ecology, aquatic ecosystem biogeochemistry, and response of aquatic systems to environmental change. An ideal candidate would include broad interdisciplinary links in their program and become involved with the Tahoe Environmental Research Center. The successful applicant is expected to have, or to develop, an independent, internationally-recognized and well-funded research program. They will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy and relevant graduate programs with which the candidate affiliates, including in aquatic ecology or limnology. They will train and supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
