Job Description
The Fasan Group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Rochester has an open postdoctoral position for a highly motivated candidate who is interested in working on drug discovery/medicinal chemistry projects related to the development of natural product-derived anticancer agents.
Applicant must have a PhD in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or related field. This position requires extensive experience in synthetic organic chemistry, independence in design/execution of synthetic routes for target compounds, and expertise in characterization and structural elucidation of complex molecules by NMR and MS. Expertise in molecular modeling, structure-based drug design and ADMET optimization are highly desirable. Some experience in protein/enzyme chemistry is desirable, but not essential. Effective problem-solving, multi-tasking, and oral and written communication skills are mandatory and evidence of previous research productivity is highly desirable.
