A postdoctoral position in experimental astrophysics/surface science is available in the group of Professor Gianfranco Vidali at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY (USA). The candidate will work on a new project to study the formation of molecules on surfaces of interstellar dust analogues using surface science/low temperature/atomic beams techniques. The successful candidate should hold a PhD in physics or related field and shown proven research ability.
A strong background and working knowledge in any of the following areas are required: ultra-high vacuum technology, laser detection of molecules (REMPI), surface science and atomic/molecular beam techniques. Computing skills in any of the following are required: Labview and instrumentation interfacing, Mathematica or similar programs.
